If you’re drawn to ancient monasteries, lunar landscapes, and the untamed spirit of the Himalayas, the Lamayuru to Alchi Trek is calling your name. Nestled deep in the Ladakhi heartland, this 5 to 6-day trek stitches together two of Ladakh’s most iconic monastic landmarks, taking you on a soulful journey through high-altitude passes, centuries-old villages, and whispering mountain gorges.
The Lamayuru to Alchi route is a moderately challenging trek ideal for those who crave a blend of cultural depth and rugged adventure. Traversing from the surreal Moonland terrain near Lamayuru to the artistically rich monastery at Alchi, this trail is less commercialized—meaning you get the solitude and authenticity that many Himalayan treks lack.
