Location: Nyoma is a remote village in southeastern Ladakh, situated on the banks of the Indus River. It lies en route to Hanle and Demchok, making it a strategic and scenic stop in the Changthang region.

Distance from Leh: Approximately 180 km (6–7 hours by road).

Accessibility:

  • By Road: Easily accessible via the Leh–Mahe route, passing through Upshi and Chumathang. The drive offers stunning views of the Indus Valley and surrounding highlands.

  • Road Conditions: Generally good up to Mahe; roads beyond may vary in quality depending on weather.

  • Transport: No regular public buses; private taxis and tourist vehicles are preferred.

  • Permits: Inner Line Permit (ILP) is mandatory for Indian nationals. Foreign nationals may need special permissions and may not be allowed to stay overnight without clearance.

  • Facilities: Basic accommodation is available; visitors should carry essentials due to limited local amenities.
