  • Best Time to Visit: May to October, when highways are open and weather conditions are favorable.

By Road:

  • Easily accessible by road from Leh via the well-maintained Leh–Manali Highway.

  • Shared taxis, private vehicles, and local buses regularly pass through Upshi.

  • Upshi acts as a major road junction for routes leading toward Pangong Lake (via Sakti and Chang La) and Tso Moriri (via Chumathang).

Permits:

  • No special permits required for Indian nationals; permits may be necessary for foreigners continuing to restricted zones.

Transportation:

  • Frequent local transport available from Leh; also accessible via tour operators and private vehicles.
