Location: Sumda Chenmo is a remote village tucked in the mountains of Ladakh, known for its historic monastery and natural isolation.

Distance from Leh: Approx. 60 km by road to Chilling, followed by a trek.

Accessibility:

  • By Road: Drive from Leh to Chilling via the Leh–Srinagar highway and the Zanskar-Indus confluence at Nimoo (approx. 2–2.5 hours).

  • On Foot: From Chilling, Sumda Chenmo can be reached via a challenging 6–8 hour uphill trek.

  • Nearest Roadhead: Chilling village serves as the closest road-accessible point.

  • Closest Landmarks: Nimoo village, Zanskar Confluence, and the starting point of the Markha Valley trek.
